Extended Hours

PLEASE NOTE AS FROM APRIL 2012 THIS SERVICE HAS BEEN SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Monday and Thursday mornings we are now open from 7.00 - 8.00am and Wednesday evenings 6.30 - 7.30pm. These extra appointments are for PRE-BOOKED APPOINTMENTS ONLY and can be pre-booked up to one month in advance.

The surgery doors will be locked and only patients with booked appointments will be permitted to enter. Those patients with booked appointments should come to the side entrance and ring the bell.

No emergencies will be seen during these hours. If you need to see a doctor urgently please phone: 0844 477 8732 and you will be put through to the out of hours service. Or if it is an emergency i.e. chest pains/stroke etc. please call 999.

Out of Hours Service

If you need to see a doctor outside surgery hours for a minor problem that cannot wait until the surgery is open, you should contact the Out of Hours Service rather than go to A&E.

The A&E Departmnet is only for Accidents or Serious Emergencies and you may have to wait for several hours to be been.

The Out of Hours Service can be contacted by:

1. Telephoning the normal surgery number on 0844 4778732 - you will AUTOMATICALLY be put through to the Out of Hours Service where you can get advice or be seen by a doctor if necessary.

OR

2. Telephone Out of Hours direct on 0845 850 3194. This number is also posted on both entrances to the surgery.

NHS Direct

In the case of urgent need when the practice is closed you can call NHS Direct (0845 4647) to speak to a triage nurse. Your needs will be assessed and advice offered or arrangements made for you to see a doctor.

Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
